About Us

Express Trailer Decking is a service brought to you by Custom Cut Lumber Operations, LLC in Alto, Texas. Situated in deep East Texas, we are a sawmill that’s been in business for 10+ years with experience in the industrial markets and in custom cutting for the public. Due to the diversity of our business we’ve found the means to provide high quality trailer decking every time our services are requested.

Our Lumber
There are many places out there, that will offer you a really good deal on trailer decking. Most of the time that involves treated pine, which can’t handle the constant beating put on trailers, or higher strength, but lower quality options. We use only locally harvested rough-cut green oak as it’s a proven and tried option for even the most intense applications.

What makes our trailer decking lumber stand out?

You can’t put a price on experience and quality. We have a seasoned team at our facility that cuts the trailer decking to order for each trailer. Next, we have skilled workmen who make sure to return your trailer to you with a deck looking just like the day you bought it fresh from the dealer, sometimes even better!

We know, there’s always the question, “What about Apitong?” Apitong is a Brazilian hardwood that is imported into the US, one of its main uses is for trailer decking due to its light weight and resistance to rot. However, there’s one major drawback…note that it’s imported, that translates into $$$! Brazilian Apitong (Angelim Pedra) is very expensive at well over $5 a linear foot on 1” material if you can find a good deal. Even at that price though, it doesn’t last forever, and will need to be replaced; forcing you to pay that high cost time and again. Rough sawn oak is a strong alternative at almost half the cost per linear foot! We have customers that have made us their preferred source for lumber and installation and we can say, with confidence, that the trailer floors last for years under normal to heavy use!

Our process
Upon getting in contact with our customers, we take the time to consider each customer’s needs/expectations and what the trailer is being used. With that in mind every trailer we do is individually considered as opposed to the standard “cookie cutter” approach where you have odd and weak strips in the trailer. We consciously weigh things like what would make it the most aesthetically pleasing and how to avoid any and all compromises in strength down to considering what lengths we should use so that we make sure hit the cross-members.
